I’d prefer not to go to school tomorrow.

Can’t I just skip?

Movie Night || Ari & Nick

n-romero:

Nick smiled to himself and opened the door leading into Ari’s dorm, “You’re so lazy.” He commented then closed the door behind him. He dropped the plastic bag on the closest surface and sat down on the edge of Ari’s bed, keeping clear of her roommate’s side. He glanced around the room, which was clean for the most part and started to relax. He leaned forward, interlacing his fingers and resting his arms on his thighs.

“I hope you have good movies.” Nick commented. His blue eyes scanned all the open shelves looking for the movie cases, but did not find any. Nick furrowed his brow and wondered where they would keep the movies. He turned towards the television set and noticed a cabinet underneath. He assumed the movies would be underneath, as well as the assumed concealed DVD player. Nick turned back to Ari, who was still into her game of temple run and waited for a response. He remained silent for fear of ruining her game. If he wrecked her score, then his night would be alone with his new roommate.

Ari laughed and stuck her tongue out at him as he shut the door and came into the dorm room. She kept her eyes glued to the screen, but heard the sound of a plastic bag hitting something and knew that those were the strawberries Nick brought with him. She smiled at that. It was really nice of him to bring her strawberries.

She bit her lip as the game got increasingly more hard and only listened slightly as Nick talked. For a bit she forgot to answer him, but then opened her mouth to speak. “Umm, we have some movies in there..” She said, jerking her head toward the cabinet beneath the TV. “Or if there are none you like we can get one OnDemand.” As she spoke, she got off track and managed to throw her character off the side of a cliff. “Dammit!” She frowned and locked her phone, throwing it behind her onto the couch as she got up and turned to the strawberries. Once she pulled the plastic box out of the bag, her frown morphed into a smile and she popped the cap. She grabbed a strawberry and turned back to Nick.

Movie Night || Ari & Nick

n-romero:

Nick walked back onto the WSSA campus with a plastic supermarket bag in his hand. Its content was a transparent plastic case with strawberries inside. Nick tried his best to weed out the better box from the rest, but there were little to choose from due to last minute Mother’s Day dinner and dessert shopping. The box he chose seemed to be pretty good, no brown tainting the red skin of any of the strawberries, but he did see an underdeveloped mini strawberry laying on the top of the pile.

He asked Ari if they could have their movie night at her dorm since he had recently acquired a new roommate and was uncomfortable being in the same room with him for now. Nick and his new roommate had never talked yet, but merely exchanged glances. It would be awkward to have to explain to him that he was having company come over to watch a movie. As Nick neared the girl’s dorm lobby he could see the usual crowd hanging out in their small cliques.

Nick avoided the eye contact, and ignored the snickers and gasps of the girls. He stood in front of the elevator and hoped no other girl would try to get in with him. Unfortunately it was too much to ask, as the doors opened and the other girls filed out Nick got into the elevator with a trio of friends who giggled and looked at him, then turned away. Nick pressed the button for Ari’s floor and hoped the girls would get off much before him. This wish was granted—fortunately—and Nick waited as the elevator ascended. He arrived to Ari’s dorm room floor without getting any new passengers and sauntered down the hall, the grocery bag swinging with each stride. He came close to her door and knocked his systematic knock then waited.

Ari shut her computer, finally finished with the photoshop on her project. She would have to get it printed tomorrow after school. The project was actually due on Friday, but she just wanted to get it over with so she could relax for the rest of the week. Well, as much as she could relax. Anyways, she didn’t exactly have anything else to do today. It was mother’s day, and everyone was out with their moms or at least on the phone with them or something like that. Ari and her mom still weren’t exactly on speaking terms since the wedding, and she didn’t mind. It’s not like her mom even tried to call her today or anything. She was probably off having a ball with her new family, not caring about Ari at all.

Shrugging off the thought, Ari concentrated on getting her small dorm room ready. At least Nick wasn’t doing anything tonight, so they could finally have their movie night. She wasn’t sure what they were going to watch, but they could figure that out once he got to the dorm. Ari looked around the room and shrugged. It wasn’t too messy, but there were a few things laying around. As she moved around to pick up discarded sweatshirts, magazines, and school books, she couldn’t help but grin thinking about how awkward Nick must be going through the girls dorm. He had been here enough for most the girls to recognize him, and there had been rumors starting to circulate. Ari didn’t really care, as long as she knew the truth.

She wasn’t sure if he wanted anything to drink, so she just left that to when he got there once again. Finally once the room was clean enough, she took a seat on the couch and grabbed her phone. As she waited she went through the different apps on the phone, settling on a game of temple run. Once she heard the knock at the door, Ari frowned. “Come in!” She yelled, and then. “I’m playing temple run and I’m not getting up!”

I really want strawberries.

n-romero:

Okay be there soon.

Okay!

I really want strawberries.

n-romero:

I don’t really care. Actually I do, I just got a new roommate and I’m not overly comfortable watching a movie with him yet, or watching a movie with him in the room. So yours?

Yeah, sure. I don’t even know where my room mate is. Come whenever.
